James Bond 007: Blood Stone
In 2010, after stopping a terrorist from destroying a fundraiser, Bond is given a new assignment, a scientist who specializes in biological engineering goes missing, presumed dead as his boat was found capsized in the ocean. The US Echelon system picks up a cell phone call that pertains to his disappearance that he is alive and the call was made in Istanbul. Bond is sent to investigate whether it was the scientist or not.

The Godfather Part IV: The Family Corleone

Gore Verbinski's Bioshock
BioShock is set in 1960. The film follows the protagonist, Jack, after his airplane crashes in the ocean near the bathysphere terminus that leads to the underwater city of Rapture. Built by the business magnate Andrew Ryan, the city was intended to be an isolated utopia, but the discovery of ADAM, a genetic material which can be used to grant superhuman powers, initiated the city's turbulent decline. Jack tries to find a way to escape, fighting through hordes of ADAM-obsessed enemies, and the iconic, deadly Big Daddies, while engaging with the few sane humans that remain and eventually learning of Rapture's past.

John Woo's Max Payne
Renegade DEA agent and former NYPD officer Max Payne attempts to hunt down the ones responsible for murdering his wife and child, as well as framing him for the murder of his NYPD partner, Alex Balder. As the story unfolds, he gains a number of "allies", including Vladimir Lem, a suave, old-fashioned Russian mobster, and Mona Sax, a female vigilante who is out to avenge the death of her twin sister, and uncovers a major conspiracy involving the trafficking of a narcotic called V, or Valkyr—after the mythological figures in Norse mythology—which is somehow connected to the death of Max's family.

Spider-Man: The Movie
The variation on the origin story had Otto Octavius as a teacher and mentor to a college-aged Peter Parker. The cyclotron accident which "creates" Spider-Man also deforms the scientist into Doctor Octopus and results in his mad pursuit of proof of the Fifth Force. "Doc Ock" reconstructs his cyclotron and causes electromagnetic abnormalities, anti-gravity effects, and bilocation which threatens to engulf New York City and the world.

The Amazing Spider-Man 3
Although Gwen Stacy, Peter Parker's first love, died a decade ago, he still feels blue for her to this day. On Valentine's Day, Parker goes back to the place where Gwen died. He leaves her a red rose, and then the flashback about how Peter and Mary Jane Watson met begins. The film retells the memory of Gwen standing between Mary Jane and Peter, who is berated by his friend Flash Thompson. Peter states how her death has scarred him and reveals to Mary Jane how much he misses Gwen. Instead of being angry, Mary Jane feels deep sympathy for her boyfriend and tells Peter to say hello to Gwen for her and to tell her how much she misses her, too, as they break up. Back in the present, it is implied that Harry Osborn is behind Silver Sable's attacks on Spider-Man. In the end, Black Cat asks Spider-Man to be her valentine and teaches him to love again.

Bruce Wayne: The WB Series
A television series focusing on a young Bruce Wayne before he became Batman. The supporting characters include a grandfather-type, two-faced friends, only one trustful cop, and an empire the hero would inherit. Everyone knows the origin of Batman, but what was never answered in comics or any media were the questions of "why and how".

David Fincher's The Amazing Spider-Man
The Green Goblin abducts Peter Parker's girlfriend, Gwen Stacy, and lures Spider-Man to a tower. The Goblin and Spider-Man clash, and the Goblin hurls Stacy off the bridge. Spider-Man shoots a web strand at her legs and catches her. As he pulls her up, he thinks he has saved her, however he quickly realizes she is dead. Unsure whether her neck was broken by the whiplash from her sudden stop or had been already broken by the Goblin prior to her fall, he blames himself for her death. The Goblin escapes to Europe where Norman Osborn can move freely and unnoticed by the general public. A decade later, Harry, Parker's best friend and Norman's son, has become addicted to drugs and is sequestered in the Osborn home for detoxification. Norman's parental grief, combined with financial pressure, triggers a breakdown resulting in him resuming his Green Goblin identity and again targeting Spider-Man for misery.

Spider-Man: The MTV Series
Set shortly after the events of the 2002 film, Peter Parker starts attending Empire State University. Peter and Mary Jane Watson try to establish a relationship without much success. Peter's superhero duties, and later his involvement with Gwen Stacy, interfere with his romance with Mary Jane, while Harry Osborn continuously blames Spider-Man for the death of his father Norman. Peter faces an assortment of other villains including Black Cat, Kraven the Hunter and Electro while trying to maintain a job and his studies, causing Peter to consider giving up being Spider-Man and try to live a normal life.

Shane Black's Death Note
