Captain America: Modern Warfare held its world premiere in Los Angeles on April 12, 2016, and was released in the United States on May 6, as the first film in Phase Three of the MCU. The film received positive reviews, including praise for the performances (particularly Evans, Johansson, Stan, Pugh, Walker and Rickman), Schachner's Score, Messages, action sequences, and themes.

It received mostly positive reviews from critics, who once again praised Ritter's performance and the series' female focus but felt the season suffered from pacing issues and a lack of a compelling villain after Tennant's Kilgrave from the first season.

The film premiered on June 30, 2015, in Tokyo, and was released in the United States on July 3, nearly ten years after the release of Spider-Man 3, in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D formats. It received mostly positive reviews from critics, who praised Holland's performance as Spider-Man, the chemistry between Rice and Holland, the visual effects, and musical score, however criticism was directed towards some of the plot elements and Darker Tone.

It was produced by Boal, Bigelow, and Megan Ellison, and independently financed by Ellison's Annapurna Pictures. The film premiered in Los Angeles on December 10, 2014, and had its wide release on January 11, 2015. The Winter Soldier received widespread critical acclaim for its acting, direction, screenplay, and editing, and was a major box office success, grossing $132 million worldwide.
