Zero Kiryu

Zero Kiryu is a complex character from the anime and manga series *Vampire Knight*. He is both an ex-human vampire and a vampire hunter. Zero is the older twin brother of Ichiru Kiryu, Yuki Kuran's partner, and the biological father of Ren Kiryu. He is a tall young man with short straight silver hair, snowy-white skin, and lavender eyes. Zero is known for his casual dressing style, often wearing his school uniform incorrectly with the vest and red tie exposed from under his black jacket. He also wears five silver earrings and has a tattoo, the Hunter's Seal, on the left side of his neck. Zero is generally composed and protective of Yuki, but he comes across as cold-hearted and hostile to others. Despite this, he is a gentle and kind person at heart. Zero was once a quiet and gentle boy, but after his family was murdered by the pureblood vampire Shizuka Hio, he developed a strong hatred towards vampires. He struggles with his vampire instincts and thirst for blood, often relying on Yuki's blood to satisfy his cravings. As a vampire hunter, Zero is skilled and determined, but his dual nature as both a vampire and a hunter creates constant inner conflict. He is deeply in love with Yuki, but chooses to hide his feelings. In the final episode of the anime, Zero lets Yuki drink his blood, allowing her to see how he truly feels about her. Zero's journey is marked by his struggle to control his vampire side and his unwavering dedication to protecting humans.
