Vanessa Cruz (born April, the 14th 1996) is Jake Thompson's ex-girlfriend, Kyle Thompson's current girlfriend and a major character in the Chargeshock Thompson & the Justice Avengers series created by Man of Action. She is the biological daughter of Orm (Ocean Master), inheriting the royal powers of the Atlanteans and initially serving as an undercover antagonist (member of Orm's cult) to later become an ally in the search for atonement.
Physical appearance
Vanessa has an exotic beauty and a commanding presence. She has jet-black hair, often worn in practical fighting styles, and electric blue eyes that seem to sparkle when she looks at them.
Her civilian outfit consists of a discreet "goth-chic" or "skater-girl" style, with clothes in shades of navy blue, black and turquoise.
Her fighting outfit consists of a hydrodynamic suit made of synthetic Atlantean scales, which allows him maximum freedom of movement and enhances his hydrokinesis.
Personality
Vanessa is a determined, hot-headed, stoic, selfless and honorable girl. However, she is also rebellious, self-isolated, mysterious, abrasive and a bit of a loner. Due to the fact she dated Jake because they bonded about growing up with a single parent, her relationship with Sally was tense and antagonistic at first. However, unlike Jake's first girlfriend, Chloé, who used him for money and fame, she actually loved, respected and genuinely cared about him.
She is also haunted by the fact that she betrayed Jake and almost got him killed. Being part of a cult designed to kill the one she loved left her with deep emotional scars. In Kyle, she has found the peace and forgiveness she didn't think she deserved. Even though she loves Kyle, Jake's presence in their lives is a constant reminder of her mistakes.
She has a strained relationship with her mother, who hid the truth about her father, Orm. When she learned that she was the daughter of the Ocean Master, Vanessa felt that she had the "monster in her blood", constantly fighting not to become like her long lost father.

Powers
Hydrokinesis: Vanessa can control water in all its states. She can use it to create shields, ice spears, or shockwaves. She is capable of "Bloodbending" (manipulating bodily fluids), but refuses to use that technique, because she considers it evil and dishonorable.
Water Healing: Can use the energetic properties of water to close wounds and neutralize toxins.
Underwater Breathing & Pressure Resistance: Direct inheritance from her father, Orm.
Abilities
Superior Agility: Moves with gravity-defying speed and grace. Can execute giant leaps and silent landings.
Predatory Instincts: Accelerated reflexes that allow it to dodge attacks from close range.
