Kim Do-Ki

Kim Do-Gi (portrayed by Lee Je-Hoon ) is the main protagonist of the 2021 Korean Drama series Taxi Driver (2021). He is a former soldier who graduated from the Naval Academy and became an UDT (underwater demolition team) Official, only to find his mother murdered when he returned from his service. Unable to get the justice she deserves, he is invited by an enigmatic man named Jang Sung-Chul, who lost his parents to a serial killer years ago, to become a part of Rainbow Taxi Company, a revenge call service to help victims like them and use his potential and knowledge to fight the corrupt society. In terms of personality, Kim Do-Gi is a young man who has endured unimaginable mental trauma and breakdown caused by the murder of his mother when he returned from his military service and was unable to find justice and closure for her death. The trauma has left him with an unhinged nature, but also a fierce resilience that drives him to take on the injustices of the world, especially after he joins the Rainbow Taxi Group. Despite the emotional scars he carries, Kim Do-Gi is an incredibly skilled and physically powerful individual. He is fearless in his pursuit of justice and is willing to put himself in harm's way to protect the vulnerable. His bravery and physical prowess make him a formidable opponent to those who stand in his way. One of Kim Do-Gi's defining characteristics is his kindness and love for his group and victims, especially for his father figure Jang Sung Chul, his best friend Ah Go Eun and Kang Hana. He is deeply committed to helping those who have been wronged and goes to great lengths to ensure their safety and well-being. He has formed a close bond with his team members and views them as family. He is protective of them and will do anything to keep them safe. However, his experiences have left him with an unstable and volatile side, this is even greatly shown when he faces the villains, in which he is willing to release his dark side to deal with them. Despite this, Kim Do-Gi is a man with a strong sense of justice and is willing to fight for what he believes in, no matter the cost. Kim Do-Gi's resilience, bravery, unhinged nature, and physical prowess make him a force to be reckoned with, while his kindness and love for his group and victims show a softer side to his character.
