The movie would focus on a group of five senior girls at a private performing arts high school just outside of New York City. The girls – Emma, Claire, Sophie, Allison, and Molly – are all members of the school's prestigious musical theater program and hoping to get into top drama schools after graduation. At the start of their senior year, the school's drama teacher/director Mr. Turner announces auditions for the spring musical. He reveals the show will be an original piece written by two alumni and centered around the ongoing cultural reckoning surrounding women's stories of sexual abuse and harassment in the wake of the #MeToo movement.read more
