  • misterwolf Plot: Adventurer Katria and her apprentice discover a dwarven ruin called Arkngthamz. They venture inside only to quickly regret their decision, but they become fascinated by the machinery and architecture. They eventually find a puzzle to the artifact they're after: an Aetherium Shard. Katria's apprentice betrays her, but the puzzle backfires and kills him, in the process also creates an earthquake that causes Katria to fall to her death.
  • misterwolf 50 years later, Serana Tomalla, Katria's maternal granddaughter, reads a book entitled "The Aetherium Wars" that depicts the adventures of her grandmother. She notices the story saying that "Katria mysteriously was not seen since her final discovery in Arkngthamz". An adventurer like the rest of her family, Serana teams up with 6 mercenaries; good-hearted yet deadly nord warrior Erik, greedy high elf assassin Arolano, redguard Alik'r warrior Relontre, good-natured nord mage and warrior Belrand, dark elf warrior Teldryn Sero, and lastly, Serana's father Torsten. They venture to multiple dwarven ruins, starting with Avanchnzel.
  • misterwolf Thongvor Silver-Blood, the jarl of Markarth, which is the capital city of the Reach in the country of Skyrim, is presented with a copy of "The Aetherium Wars" book: he reads it and realizes that the story it tells is based on the events that actually happened in the country. In Avanchnzel, the group faces dwarven spider workers and spheres, and then goes face-to-face with the Falmer, wretched creatures who live in many underground locations below dwarven ruins. Through all fights, they find a lexicon that a group of treasure hunters were trying to return in the ruin. They eventually replace the lexicon back to it's original location before leaving the ruin to pursue the location of the next dwarven ruin: Irkngthand.
  • misterwolf Titus Mede II, the emperor of Tamriel, orders the Empire to set up camps all around Skyrim, while Serana and the group ask veteran wizard Tolfdir about the location of Irkngthand. He concludes that the ruin is a few miles toward the city of Windhelm. They find the ruin and enter it; inside, they discover two jewels called the Eyes of the Falmer. Through the boilery and then the falmer territory within the ruin, they make it to a dwarven statue that represents who the falmer used to be: a snow elf. They wedge the Eyes of the Falmer back into the eye sockets of the statue before leaving the ruin.
  • misterwolf Arolano betrays the group and kills Torsten, but Erik beheads him, remarking that he never trusted Arolano's true motives. Serana cradles her dying father, and she promises to him that she will find her grandmother's "greatest discovery", before he succumbs to his wounds. The group buries Torsten, while Serana burns Arolano's body. The Imperials in Eastmarch provides the group with bows and arrows, and tell them to head to Dawnstar for some rest. They go there and enter the Windpeak Inn, and they rest. They wake up the next morning, and ask the innkeeper where to find Arkngthamz, the dwarven ruin mentioned in the book: he reveals that the ruin is located in the Reach. The group leaves Dawnstar.
  • misterwolf The guards of the Reach refuse to let the group go to Arkngthamz, but Thongvor orders the guards to stand down and provides the group with a map leading to the ruin. Tolfdir arrives and provides Belrand with a staff before the group leaves to continue their journey. They find the ruin and enter it, and upon their discovery, they locate the remains of Katria, whose ghost appears and decides to help them. She guides them through and aids them in their struggling battle with the incoming Falmer, before they face the puzzle that killed Katria and her apprentice. They eventually solve it but must face a powerful and deadly mechanical machine: A Dwarven Centurion Master. The machine kills Teldryn and knocks Relontre and Belrand unconscious, but Serana and Erik overpower and destroy it. The surviving group finds their first Aetherium Shard, and Katria offers to help them find more; they accept her offer.
  • misterwolf The group leaves the ruins and they vow to find the other Shards, but the Daedric Lord of Fate, Hermaeus Mora, arrives. He attempts to make the group serve him, but they resist and fight him. He initially overpowers them, but Serana eventually defeats him and drives him away, before he vows to return for revenge. The group decides to prepare for Mora's return as the end credits roll.
