Synopsis
Flamel is an American-British-French television series created and developed by David Yates, based on Nicolas Flamel from French Mythology and is a spin-off of the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beast franchises. It is part of the Wizarding World franchise, and was produced by Warner Bros. Pictures and written by Yates from a story by Chris Columbus, Alfonso Cuarón, and J. K. Rowling. The series stars Brontis Jodorowsky as the title character while Anne Hathaway portrays Leta Goldstein-Scamander, the protagonist of the series, who befriends him, and tells the story of Flamel's life of immortality as he explains how he found the Philosopher's Stone to Scamander. Katherine Waterston, Jude Law, Maggie Smith, William Nadylam, Jessica Williams, Ciarán Hinds, Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, and Johnny Depp also star as the main cast of season one, consisting of four episodes, while season two, consisting of six, will feature Roman Griffin Davis, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, and Florence Welch. The series's pilot episode, A New Beginning, was released on January 9th, 2024; the series overall received acclaim from critics, audiences and fans, with praise going to its visual effects, Yates' writing and direction, action sequences, themes, the score by Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard, and Hathaway, Jodorowsky, Law, Smith, Nadylam, Redmayne, Waterston and Depp's performances. A second season was ordered in March 1st, and it is slated for release on February 15th, 2025.
