The Wasp Factory

The story is told from the perspective of 16-year-old Frank Cauldhame. Frank lives with his father on a small island in rural Scotland, and he has not seen his mother in many years. There is no official record of his birth, meaning his existence is largely unknown. Frank occupies his time with rituals, building dams, and maintaining an array of weapons (a small catapult, pipe bombs, and a crude flamethrower) for killing small animals around the island. He takes long walks to patrol the island and occasionally gets drunk with his only friend, a dwarf. Otherwise, Frank has almost no contact with the outside world. He's haunted by the memory of a dog attack during his youth, which resulted in the loss of his genitalia. He resents others for his impotence, particularly women. This is in part due to the mauling coinciding with the last time he saw his mother, who had come back to give birth to his younger brother, leaving immediately after.

Attack On Titan Part IV

The movie introduces Gabi Braun and Falco Grice, young Eldian Warrior candidates seeking to inherit Reiner's Armored Titan four years after the failed mission to reclaim the Founding Titan. While Marley plans to invade Paradis to strengthen their weakening military and retrieve the Founding Titan, the Survey Corps lay an attack in their homeland. As Marley and the Paradis forces go to war in Marley and the Shiganshina District, both sides sustain a heavy death toll while Gabi and Falco are forced to confront their internal tensions about the supposed "devils" of Paradis. In the second part of the season, aware of the global anti-Eldian sentiment resulting from Marleyan propaganda, Eren Jaeger preemptively targets the world outside of Paradis with the Rumbling, unleashing millions of Colossal-like Wall Titans in a widespread effort to kill all life beyond the island. In the third and fourth parts of the season, the Alliance led by members of the Survey Corps and Warrior Unit head to Marley in order to stop Eren's Founding Titan and end the Rumbling.

Attack On Titan Part III: War Of Paradis

The movie follows Eren and his fellow soldiers from the Survey Corps who are still fighting for their survival against the terrifying Titans. However, threats arise not only from the Titans beyond the walls, but from the humans within them as well. After being rescued from the Colossal and Armored Titans, all seems well for the soldiers, until the government suddenly demands custody of Eren and Historia. Sought after by the government, Levi and his new squad must evade their adversaries in hopes of keeping Eren and Historia safe. In the second half of the season, the Survey Corps led by Erwin embark on a mission to retake Wall Maria, returning to the tattered Shiganshina District that was once Eren's home. The Survey Corps strive to carve a path towards victory as Eren vows to take back everything that was once his.

Attack On Titan Part II: The Fall of Eden

The season follows Eren Jaeger and his friends from the 104th Training Corps who have just begun to become full members of the Survey Corps. After fighting the Female Titan, Eren finds no time to rest as a horde of Titans is approaching Wall Rose and the battle for humanity continues. As the Survey Corps races to save the wall, they uncover more about the invading Titans and the dark secrets of their own members.

Left 4 Dead 2

Like its predecessor, Left 4 Dead 2 is set in the aftermath of a worldwide pandemic of a disease nicknamed the "Green Flu", which rapidly transforms humans into zombie-like creatures and mutated forms that demonstrate extreme aggression towards non-infected beings. A few humans are immune to the disease, while some of those who are infected have no symptoms. The Civil Emergency and Defense Agency (CEDA) and the U.S. military create safe zones to attempt to evacuate as many survivors as possible. Left 4 Dead 2 introduces four new survivors: Coach, Ellis, Nick, and Rochelle, who are immune to the disease and have individual backstories that are provided through character dialogue.[36][37][38] While the game is intended as a continuation of the original, occurring one week after the first game begins, Valve decided to create a new group of survivors due to the change in location.[39] Like the first game, the five campaigns in Left 4 Dead 2 take place across a story arc.[40] Set in the Deep South, the story begins in Savannah, Georgia, and ends in New Orleans, Louisiana.[3][4] The four survivors have to fight their way through hordes of infected, using safehouses along the way to rest and recuperate in order to reach extraction points.

Left 4 Dead

An outbreak of a highly contagious pathogen nicknamed the "Green Flu" (which causes extreme aggression, mutation to the body cells, loss of higher brain functions, and essential zombification of those who catch it) begins in Pennsylvania.[2] Memorial walls—giving names and obituaries to those who have died in the infection—suggest that the movie takes place in October 2024.[3] Two weeks after the first infection, four immune survivors—Green Beret and Vietnam veteran William "Bill" Overbeck (Played by Bob Odenkirk), college student Zoey (played by Olivia Rodrigo), district account manager Louis (played by Sterling K. Brown), and outlaw biker Francis (played by Dave Bautista )—make their way out of the city of Fairfield, only to discover that the infection is creating dangerous mutations in some of its hosts.

In The Miso Soup

Twenty-year-old Kenji is a Japanese "nightlife" guide for foreigners—he navigates gaijin men around the sex clubs and hostess bars of Tokyo. On December 29 he receives a phone call from an American named Frank, who seeks three nights of his services. While Kenji has promised to spend more time with his girlfriend, sixteen-year-old Jun, the money is too good to pass up. He finds himself closing out the end of the year accompanying Frank around Shinjuku, wondering if his strange, plastic-skinned patron could be responsible for the gruesome events recently reported in the news.

Stoner

William Stoner is born on a small farm in 1891. One day his father suggests he should attend the University of Missouri to study agriculture. Stoner agrees but, while studying a compulsory literature course, he quickly falls in love with literary studies. Without telling his parents, Stoner quits the agriculture program and studies humanities. He completes his MA in English and begins teaching. In graduate school, he befriends fellow students Gordon Finch and Dave Masters. World War I begins, and Gordon and Dave enlist, but despite pressure from Gordon, Stoner remains in school. Masters is killed in France, while Finch sees action and becomes an officer. At a faculty party, Stoner meets and becomes infatuated with a young woman named Edith. He woos her and she marries him.
