Derek is exposed to chemicals that give him superpower, giving James the upper hand against Max, Mia, and Mark, but Noah and James must teach Derek how to control and adapt to his powers before anything can happen. Mark Reignson and Mia Salone have injected themselves with James' blood, which they stole from James after they gave him a cure. Now with superpowers of their own, they join Max Graynold in plotting their revenge on James with the help of their leader, Alexander Kinley.
