X-Men is a 2000 American superhero film directed by Bryan Singer from a screenplay by David Hayter and a story by Singer and Tom DeSanto, based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. X-Men premiered at Ellis Island on July 12, 2000, and was released in the United States on July 14. Blade 1998

Blade is a 1998 American superhero horror film directed by Stephen Norrington and written by David S. Goyer, based on the Marvel Comics superhero of the same name created by Marv Wolfman and Gene Colan. It is the first installment in the Blade trilogy. The film stars Wesley Snipes as the titular character with Stephen Dorff, Kris Kristofferson and N'Bushe Wright in supporting roles. In the film, Blade is a Dhampir, a human with vampire strengths but not their weaknesses, who together with his mentor Abraham Whistler and hematologist Karen Jenson, fights against vampires, namely the exceptionally vicious Deacon Frost. Blade was released in the United States on August 21, 1998, and was a commercial success, grossing $70 million at the U.S. box office, and $60.2 million worldwide. Despite mixed reviews from film critics, the film received a positive reception from audiences and has since garnered a cult following. It is also hailed as one of Snipes' signature roles. Blade was noted as a dark superhero film for its time,[6] as well as being Marvel's first successful film and setting the stage for further comic book film adaptations. Dark Phoenix premiered on December 15, 2019, at the Cannes Film Festival, then released worldwide on December 19, 2019. The Defenders: The Last Stand is a 2019 superhero film based on the Defenders comic books published by Marvel Entertainment Group. The film was acclaimed by critics, with many calling it better than the original. It won Best Film from the National Board of Review and was also named one of the top ten films of 2019 by the American Film Institute. The film was nominated for six awards at the 91st Academy Awards (including Best Picture), winning Best Sound and received numerous other accolades. Fantastic Four: Rise of Galactus is a 2019 American superhero film, and sequel to the 2015 and 2017 Fantastic Four films. All 3 films are based on the Fantastic Four comic book and were directed by Guillermo Del Toro. The film stars Matt Bomer, Alice Eve and Dacre Montgomery as the title characters, with Johnny Depp, Kerry Washington, Andre Braugher, Beau Garrett and Cillian Murphy in supporting roles. The plot follows the Fantastic Four (and Doctor Doom) as they confront, and later ally with, the Silver Surfer to save Earth from Galactus. The film was released on February 14th, 2019 in North America. Critical reception was generally positive but the film grossed over $301 million worldwide, but earned less than its predecessor which grossed $333.5 million worldwide.

Elektra 2018

Elektra is a 2018 superhero film directed by Rob Bowman. It is a spin-off from the Defenders Saga, starring the Marvel Comics character Elektra Natchios (portrayed by Elodie Yung). The story follows Elektra, an assassin who has to survive on her own after she was the only Defender to not get Snapped away and must protect a man and his prodigy daughter from another assassin who was hired by The Hand. The film was released on December 14, 2018. Upon its release, Elektra was a commercial and critical success, grossing $56 million against a production budget of $43–65 million. It received positive reviews from critics, who found Yung's performance and the action scenes worthy of praise.

In the film, struggling journalist Brock gains superpowers after becoming the host of an alien symbiote, Venom, whose species plans to invade Earth. Venom premiered at Regency Village Theater on October 1, 2018, and was theatrically released in the United States on October 5, 2018. The film was negatively received by critics. The film became the seventh-highest-grossing film of 2018 with over $856 million worldwide and set several box office records for an October release.

X-Men: New Mutants 2018

X-Men: The New Mutants is a 2018 American superhero horror film based on the Marvel Comics team of the same name. It is a spin-off film in the X-Men film series and the thirteenth and final installment overall before the whole series was moved to Marvel. The film was directed by Josh Boone from a screenplay he wrote with Knate Lee, and it stars Elsie Fisher, Sarah Yarkin, Fumi Nikaido, Nick Robinson, Sabrina Carpenter, Blu Hunt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Heaton, and Alice Braga. In the film, about a few months after the events in infinity war, a group of young mutants held in a secret facility fight to save themselves. X-Men: The New Mutants was theatrically released in the United States on August 28, 2018, by Marvel Studios. The film received generally positive reviews from critics and was a smash hit at the box office, grossing $300 million worldwide against its production budget of $67–80 million.
