Neuromancer
Henry Dorsett Case is a low-level hustler in the dystopian underworld of Chiba City, Japan. Once a talented computer hacker, Case was caught stealing from his employer. As punishment for his theft, Case's central nervous system was damaged with a mycotoxin, leaving him unable to access the global computer network in cyberspace, a virtual reality dataspace called the "matrix". Case is unemployable, suicidal, and apparently at the top of the hit list of a drug lord named Wage. Case is saved by Molly Millions, an augmented "street samurai" and mercenary for a shadowy ex-military officer named Armitage, who offers to cure Case in exchange for his services as a hacker. Case jumps at the chance to regain his life as a "console cowboy," but neither Case nor Molly knows what Armitage is really planning. Case's nervous system is repaired using new technology that Armitage offers the clinic as payment, but he soon learns from Armitage that sacs of the poison that first crippled him have been placed in his blood vessels as well. Armitage promises Case that if he completes his work in time, the sacs will be removed; otherwise they will dissolve, disabling him again.

The Elenium
Sparhawk, a Pandion Knight, has returned to his hometown Cimmura after ten years of exile in Rendor. He finds his Queen and former pupil, Ehlana, has fallen ill, having been poisoned. Queen Ehlana has been encased in diamond by magic performed by Sephrenia, the Styric tutor of magic to the Pandion Knights. The diamond will keep Queen Ehlana alive for up to 12 months while a cure is found. To aid him on his quest, Sparhawk takes his childhood friend and fellow Pandion Knight Kalten, his squire Kurik, and Sephrenia. In a show of unity, the other three Church Knight Orders also send their champions to be his companions: Genidian Knight Ulath of Thalesia, Alcione Knight Tynian of Deira, and Cyrinic Knight Bevier of Arcium. The company is also joined by Talen, a wayward, young and gifted thief, and by a mysterious little girl,named Flute, who is quite a bit more than she seems.

Awoken

The Adventures of Teddy Ruxpin follows young Teddy Ruxpin as he leaves his home on the island of Rillonia with his best friend Grubby to follow an ancient map which leads him to find a collection of crystals on the mainland of Grundo. With the help of his new friend Dr. Newton Gimmick, Teddy and Grubby discover the magical powers of what turns out to be an ancestral treasure as well as an organization with ambitions to use it for evil known as M.A.V.O. (short for Monsters and Villains Organization).

Doctor Syn
The Reverend Doctor Christopher Syn led a quiet life as a country vicar until his wife Imogen was seduced by and eloped with Nicholas Tappitt, a man Syn considered a close friend. After pursuing the eloped couple on a quest for vengeance, Syn is forced into piracy under the alias of "Captain Clegg." Eventually, Dr. syn abandons his quest, and his manufactured Clegg identity to settle in Dymchurch, accompanied by his former ship's carpenter Mipps. When he discovers that many of his parishioners are involved in the smuggling of goods from France to avoid the excessive customs duties, and are in sore need of experienced leadership, Syn adopts the identity of The Scarecrow, a costumed vigilante who organizes the townsfolk into the "Night Riders", and well-trained team with their own macabre costumes and code-names. The operation is a success, but it soon gains the attention of the Royal Navy, who are resolved to crush the smuggling ring, while ghosts from Syn's past soon complicate matters further.

The Man Who Laughs
In late 17th-century England, a disfigured homeless boy named Gwynplaine, who had his face mutilated into a perpetual grin, finds an infant blind girl whose mother died from the cold in a snowstorm, and despite his own hardship take her with him, eventually happening across a carnival vendor named Ursus, who while initially horrified by Gwynplaine's appearance, then moved to pity, and he takes them in. Fifteen years later, Gwynplaine has grown into a strong young man, attractive save for his deformed visage, while the girl, now named Dea has grown into a beautiful young woman, and two have fallen in love. The spoiled and jaded Duchess Josiana, upon attending one of the carnival's performances, immediately becomes infatuated with Gwynplaine and seeks to lure him away for her own.

The Flying Nun
After being arrested in a New York City protest, Chicago native Elsie Ethrington moves to the Convent San Tanco in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where she adopts the name of Sister Bertrille. While there, she discovers her unusual ability to fly unassisted, a trait which proves to be both a blessing and a curse as it tends to get her both out of and into all sorts of trouble.

The Mystery Men
The Mysterymen are a team (more like a gang, really) of blue-collar superheroes who can't make the big leagues because of a variety of flaws: mediocre powers, ridiculous (even for superheroes) costumes, behavioural problems and severe character flaws, terrible reputations, etc. Unable to find a team who would take them, they formed their own. They've been nicknamed the Dirty Thirty because at their height they had around that many members, but time and a high casualty rate has brought that number down a bit. in fact they have the highest casualty rates of any superhero team in existence, but they also have the highest kill ratio too - they may not be powerful, but they don't hold back what they do have.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure

Nocturnals
Doctor Nicodemus Horror and his daughter Evening, refugees from a parallel world known as the "Black Planet" that was overrun by an extradimensional species of parasites known as the Crim have settled in Pacific City, California. Doc Horror now operates out of his underground sanctuary called the Tomb, joined by an eclectic group of societal outcasts who shun the light of day. Together they battle the criminal underworld and various supernatural threats which often rear up in nearby Pacific City.

The Last Unicorn
A Unicorn living alone in a forest, disturbed at the thought that she may be the last of her kind, sets out to learn what has become of the others of her kind. Seeking clues to their fate, she meets a talking butterfly who tells her of a monster known as the Red Bull who has been hunting all unicorns. Eventually, she befriends the bumbling magician Schmendrick and Molly Grue, the common-law wife of a bandit chief. Together they journey to the castle of King Haggard, where it is said the Red Bull resides.

American McGee's Alice
After her family is killed in a house fire, Alice Liddell, now a patient at Rutledge Asylum, is summoned back into a twisted version Wonderland ruled by the horrible Queen of Hearts. Guided by the Cheshire Cat, Alice sets out to free Wonderland from the Queen's reign of terror.

When the Evil Queen's Magic Mirror informs her that her stepdaughter Snow White has surpassed her as "the fairest one of all" she is overcome by jealousy and plots to have Snow killed. Warned away by The Huntsman, Snow White escapes into the forest, where she meets and befriends a group of seven dwarfs who operate a nearby mine.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
When planet Earth is demolished to make way for a hyperspace bypass by an unpleasant bureaucratic alien race known as the Vogons, hapless Englishman Arthur Dent narrowly escapes thanks to his best friend Ford Prefect, a Betelgeusian galactic hitch-hiker and contributing writer for the titular guide, who is not an out-of-work actor from Guildford as he had hitherto claimed. Arthur, still in his dressing gown, is subsequently dragged from one crisis to the next on a series of misadventures across the galaxy.
