Yada had an isolating mental illness and lived on the outskirts of the Fall People village, with only the animals.[1] When the Savage Land was in danger of flooding due to the machinations of the Roxxon Oil Company, she refused to leave at first, her reason being the gravesite of her deceased child being near her home.
