Vampirella is a fictional superheroine created in 1969 by Forrest J Ackerman and comic book artist Trina Robbins who first appeared in Warren Publishing's black-and-white horror comics magazine Vampirella #1, a sister publication of Creepy and Eerie. She is an alien vampire originally hailed from the planet Drakulon, a world where blood flowed like water and where the natives, called the Vampiri, shared traditionally vampiric characteristics.
Vampirella travels to Earth after an American space shuttle crashes on Drakulon where she begins hunting dark remnants of her own race in an attempt to save her race from extinction where her home planet began to suffer droughts due to orbiting a binary sun, which gradually began to dry up their blood supply.
