Biography

Ursus (also known as the Sea Sorcerer) is the main antagonist of Warner Bros. 2024 musical fantasy film The Young Merman. After being banished from Atlantis by his longstanding older sister, Queen Rhodos, a scorned Ursus vowed to exact vengeance by harnessing the power of the queen's trident and installing herself as ruler of all the ocean. To accomplish his goals, Ursus strikes deals with unfortunate merfolk that will (supposedly) make their dreams come true, but are covertly designed to advance Ursus' own ambitious. Prince Adam, being one suck merfolk, trades his voice to Ursus in exchange for human legs. Should Adam fail to uphold his end of the deal by winning the love of Princess Eve, he will be bound to Ursus, and thusly used as a bargaining chip for Rhodos' crown.
