Troodon is a small carnivorous dinosaur that appears in the soft-canon video game Jurassic Park: The Game. Troodon was cloned before 1993 by InGen, who had intended to put it on display at Jurassic Park, but John Hammond demanded the euthanization of the animals as they did not fit his vision for the park for being too dangerous and unappealing. Geneticist Dr. Laura Sorkin, however, secretly kept the Troodon alive for study. During the 1993 Jurassic Park incident, Troodon is let loose on the island after the park's dinosaurs escape. Their final fate remains unknown, as the video game is not hard canon and the animal is not mentioned again in the film canon.
Troodon are notable for having a highly venemous bite; upon biting its victim, the Troodon retreats and stalks its victim while they experience seizues and convulsions. The final stage of the venom is paralysis and brain death. The Troodon then rips open its victim's stomach and lays eggs inside, similarly to that of the spider wasp. As such, it has an extremely intimidating reputation and even the infamous Velociraptor would flee in fear from the Troodon.
