Tonton Macoute (VSN)

The Tonton Macoute (Volontaires de la Sécurité Nationale, VSN or the Macoutes) is a Haitian voodoo secret police named after the bogeyman who became a demonic creature when they catch naughty children as well as political dissidents during the dictatorship of François and his son Jean-Claude Duvalier both ruled as dictators from 1957 until Baby Doc was overthrown on 7 February 1986 after a series of night raids when his father Papa Doc became a feared voodoo sorcerer, who used his knowledge of the Dark Arts to further his reign of terror as President for Life for malevolent and selfish purposes, becoming a dreaded bokor, a sorcerer or even Baron Samedi with the ability to create zombies and talismans to house spirits, and dedicating bloody human sacrifices to the spirits to obtain their purposes. In time, these actions would pay off, as he rose through the ranks of power in Haiti by sending his paramilitary force, the Tonton Macoutes as they move from province to province, with Luckner Cambronne becoming the undertaker of that the Caribbean nation secretly removing the corpses from the graveyards and mortuaries throughout Haiti.
