Thulsa Doom is a fictional character created by American author Robert E. Howard, as an antagonist for the character Kull of Atlantis. Thulsa Doom debuted in the story "Delcardes' Cat". He has since appeared in comic books and film as the nemesis of Kull and, later, one of Howard's other creations, Conan the Barbarian.
In the 1982 film Conan The Barbarian Thulsa Doom (where he is portrayed by James Earl Jones) is a Stygian whose power as a strong and renowned wizard places him as the leader of an unnamed snake cult that grows to be more powerful than most aspiring cults of the same sort. In Howard's stories, Thulsa Doom is presented as Kull's immortal enemy, while in the movie, he is responsible for the death of Conan's parents.
