Six-issue miniseries written by Kurt Busiek in 2002. Keith Giffen's Defenders (2001-2002) led into this series, which ended with the Hulk, Doctor Strange, Namor, and Silver Surfer all being corrupted by Yandroth's curse. They subsequently formed The Order, as their rational sides became overwhelmed by their coldest and most uncaring versions of themselves and declared themselves rulers of the world. Samantha Parrington/Valkyrie (accompanied by Hellcat) reunited with her parents before Nighthawk told them what happened to their teammates. While the Order fought the Avengers, their three former teammates recruited Namorita, Clea, and She-Hulk, female counterparts to them, before creating Ardina, a female version of the Silver Surfer, in an attempt to cure them from the curse’s effects. The remaining Defenders were also advised by Papa Hagg in attempting to break the curse and allied with Christopher Ganyrog (Yandroth's Successor as Scientist Supreme of Yann) and the Masters of the Mental Arts.
