The End is an antagonist in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is an entity with the sole purpose of destroying everything and everyone in existence. It has destroyed countless planets and stars in the past and destroyed many civilizations. It was also the reason why the ancients' home planet was destroyed and followed them to Earth so it could wipe them out. Because of this, it was also responsible for the Chaos Emeralds being on Earth and, subsequently, Doctor Eggman's conquest of them, as well as many major events throughout the series. However, it was captured and sealed in Cyber Space when fighting the Ancients. The End tricked Sonic when he escaped Cyber Space when he arrived to Starfall Islands into helping it break the seal. Once the seal was broken, The End tried to destroy Earth but was defeated and destroyed by Super Sonic with the help of Sage.
