Spike is a brown rat who appears in the books and the TV series. He is one of Bully’s closest allies and the spy of the plague of brown rats who infiltrates the Farthing Wood Animals. In the books he is very vicious and threatening, killing Mossy during the final battle to take over the park, before being killed by Adder. In the TV series, he has what he calls a "kindly disposition" and, while initially only spying on the Farthing Wood Animals, strikes up a friendship with Toad and switches sides, saving Toad from Bully during the final battle, before permanently joining the Farthing Wood creatures.
