Biography
Sofia Bianchessi is a model and entrepreneur based in New York. She is a fitness junkie at heart, with a caring, curious, and adventurous spirit who loves to share her fitness, beauty, and nutritional advice to lead a healthy, beautiful life. As a model, she's signed with Wilhelmina and FORD New York. As an entrepreneur, she founded Sofia Bianchessi Design (@sofiabianchessidesign), a business located in New York and which specializes in both Commercial & Residential Interior Design, as well as weekly fresh flower deliveries for businesses and homes.
Sofia was born and raised in Upland, California, and is quarter Swedish, Italian, Indian, and Burmese. Her mother was born in Calcutta, India; her grandmother is from Burma, and her grandfather is from India. Her father was born in Milan, Italy; while his parents were from Sweden and Italy. Sofia likes to joke and say she is "the poster child of the United Nations".
At 18 she moved to New York City and took a bachelor’s degree in business from St. John's University. She ended up staying in New York City after graduating to pursue her career as a model, and in 2015 signed with Wilhelmina Models. Currently she's also signed with FORD New York. Since then she's been featured in editorials in Shape, Refinery29, Maxim and Runners World, as well as in campaigns for Nike, Apple, Adidas, Target and countless others.
Sofia eventually also took an associates degree from the New York School of Interior Design, and then started her business with one passion in mind; "all things fine living". She is inspired by the beauty and intricacies of nature and the disciplines and philosophies of architecture. As a hobby, she started creating floral arrangements for friends and family, and it quickly evolved into a growing business. This business was the perfect meld for Sofia’s educational background. Sofia views balance and proportion differently than most, and has a penchant for combining efficiency and function with visual beauty. She applies this approach to both floral and interior design.
