During the Original Outbreak of the Rage Virus, Jimmy, his parents, his aunt, his five sisters, and his cousin Delilah were part of a group of people living at a small and rural commune in the Scottish Highlands which consisted of a house and a nearby church where his father prayed. While the children were watching the Teletubbies on the TV, a warning siren sounded outside, and Jimmy's aunt briefly burst in to urge him and the other children to stay where they were and not move. Moments later, the Infected, having found the group, invaded the house, and Jimmy witnessed them mauling the other children and his aunt and mother becoming infected, before he fled to the church with the Infected pursuing him, finding his father praying inside. In a state of apocalypse-induced religious ecstasy, Jimmy's father hailed the Rage outbreak as Judgement Day and claimed that those whom were infected were saved. He handed Jimmy a gold cross necklace and told him to hide, just as the Infected breached the church and attacked the vicar. Jimmy watched from a hiding place as his father ecstatically allowed the Infected to swarm and violently infect him, before Jimmy fled the church into the countryside
