First appeared in Star-Spangled Comics #1 in 1941 and was created by Jerry Siegel and Hal Sherman. Pat Dugan/S.T.R.I.P.E. is the partner and stepfather of Courtney Whitmore/Stargirl. During the Golden Age, he was known as Stripesy and was the sidekick of Sylvester Pemberton/Star-Spangled Kid and a member of the Seven Soldiers of Victory alongside him.
