Rodrick Heffley is a 17-year-old boy who is Greg and Manny's older brother. He is also a member of the heavy metal/punk band Löded Diper (a play on "Loaded Diaper" and rock bands with archaic name spellings such as Def Leppard and Mötley Crüe). He was introduced hating Greg and Rowley. Most of the time in earlier books, Greg and Rodrick don't get along, and oftentimes, one of them gets the other in trouble. However, He shows affection to him in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days film when Rodrick is allowed to bring his band, "Löded Diper", to celebrate his crush's (Heather Hills') 16th birthday. In addition, their relationship slowly improves over the course of the books. Frank Heffley has trouble trusting him, as he dislikes heavy metal and teenagers in general. Rodrick is seemingly not very intelligent, as he makes foolish assumptions and decisions, and cannot spell very well.
