Rex Connors (formerly known as Rudolph "Rudy" Connors) is a major character in Invincible, debuting from Season 1 and onwards. He is better known as the superhero Robot.
He is an exceptionally intelligent human scientist who was born with significant deformities and health problems. Robot developed a fighting-ready robot body to overcome his restrictions and fulfill his ambitions, including safeguarding Earth's populace, which first resulted in his recruitment as the head of Teen Team before he became part of the newest version of the Guardians of the Globe after the original team was murdered by Omni-Man. After falling in love with Amanda/Monster Girl, Robot hired the Mauler Twins to duplicate his mind into a clone body created from a sample of Rex Splode's blood. Although the clone lived on to start a new existence, the original Robot passed away quietly.
With the support of his girlfriend Amanda, Robot began to discover how to lead a regular life while also aiding in the safeguarding of the Earth and its inhabitants from all known threats. After Rex Splode's heroic sacrifice during the Invincible War, Robot took on his first name to pay tribute to his fallen friend's legacy.
