Biography

Roberta de Souza Rodrigues (Rio de Janeiro, October 20, 1982) is a Brazilian actress and singer. She began her career in the 2000s in theatrical works by the group Nós do Morro until she became known worldwide when playing the character Berenice, in the film City of God. Throughout her career, Rodrigues has received numerous award nominations, including two Grande Otelo Awards, a Contigo! and a Brazilian Music Award. After her participation in the Oscar-nominated film City of God, she began appearing in television and cinema productions. Her television debut was in Mulheres Apaixonadas (2003) playing the role of the maid Zilda. Roberta is still known for her performances in the soap operas A Lua Me Disse (2005), Paraíso Tropical (2007), Três Irmãs (2008), Insensato Coração (2011), Salve Jorge (2012) and Segundo Sol (2018), in addition to the series Tô de Graça (2017) and Sob Pressão: Plantão Covid (2020). As a singer, she participated in some musical groups. she participated in the now extinct vocal group, "Fina Flor", later called "Linda Flor", and had success with the hip hop group "Melanina Carioca", formed with friends from Vidigal. In cinema, she stood out in Garrincha: Estrela Solítaria (2005), Mulheres do Brasil (2006), Se Nada Mais Der Certo (2008), 5x Favela - Agora por Nós Aléms (2011), Nise: O Coração da Loucura (2016 ), Apaixonados - O Filme (2016), L.O.C.A.
