Regina Mills, formerly known as the Evil Queen and currently the Good Queen, is a main character in the fantasy-drama series Once Upon a Time. Regina was the main antagonist of Season 1, before later becoming an anti-hero by Season 3 and a protagonist from Seasons 4-6. She is the female protagonist of Season 7. Regina was born a princess and abused by her controlling mother, the sorceress Cora. After Snow White inadvertently causes the death of her fiancé, Cora forces Regina into marrying Snow's father. In an effort to free herself from Cora, Regina learns magic from Rumplestiltskin, but he manipulates her into gaining power through evil, and Regina becomes the Evil Queen, obsessed with getting revenge on Snow White.
