Rami is a queer, Pakistani/Canadian actor/writer/dramaturg/comedian based out of Toronto. After graduating from Randolph College for the Performing Arts, Rami appeared in various theatre productions across Toronto, including Bend it Like Beckham: The Musical (Starvox Entertainment) and Blackout (Musical Stage Co.). His career then led him to star in multiple TV and film projects including Life with Luca (Shaftesbury) and 1Up (Lionsgate/Buzzfeed). Alongside all of this Rami is pursing his passion for sketch comedy, writing and starring in shows with his troupe for Toronto Sketchfest, Toronto Fringe Festival, and across multiple comedy venues in Toronto. Although performing is extremely important to Rami, he also works as a dramaturg, currently assisting Stephen Colella at Young People's Theatre on a new play development. Recently, Rami has found a love and passion for screenwriting. Writing various shorts, an original pilot, and feature, Rami is exploring how he can use writing as a way to innovate and explore intersectionallity in diversity within the Canadian film landscape. As someone who enjoys collaboration and the creative process, Rami is passionate to learn and grow as an artist.
