Planicoxa was a medium-sized, bipedal herbivorous dinosaur from the Early Cretaceous period, known from fossils found in Utah, USA. Its name, meaning "flat hip," refers to the unique, flat appearance of its ilium (hip bone), a defining characteristic of the genus Planicoxa. This iguanodontian dinosaur, estimated to be about 4.5 meters (15 feet) long and weighing 450 kg (990 lbs), used its keratinous beak to process vegetation.
