Nikolas Rokoff is the primary recurring antagonist in the early Tarzan novels by Edgar Rice Burroughs. Rokoff was an enemy of Tarzan who first appeared in the novel The Return of Tarzan (1915) and its sequel Beasts of Tarzan (1916).
He is typically depicted as a vengeful Russian criminal or aristocrat who targets Tarzan’s family. He had a sister who was a countess named Olga de Coude whom he plotted against and had an assistant named Alexis Paulvitch. Just like in the series, Rokoff loses his life.
The character also served as a loose inspiration for Clayton in the 1999 Disney film adaptation.
