Aviv was born in Haifa, completed his high school studies at the "Yavne" religious high school in Haifa in 1965. He served in the North Command Band and participated in its programs from the 13th to the 15th "Glee in the North", "Kal Habod" and "El Harma", which were broadcast after the Six Day War . He became famous as the lead singer of the band with the song "Kingdoms of Hermon", a big hit that led the hymn parades for many weeks, and was chosen as the "Song of the Year" in the annual IDF hymn parade.
