Mr. Marlowe was an old friend of Lord Plunder, Ka-Zar's father. He was killed by the Reptile Men in the Savage Land and at the point of death left a message for Ka-Zar on the ground telling him that his father was a man of peace and that his brother Edgar had lied, but Edgar found the message first and he canceled it leaving Ka-Zar with a misconception about his father.[1]
