Michael Dempsey is an American actor, born in Boston, Mass. on September 30th, 1972. Michael took his first acting class with his mentor, Roger Guenveur Smith, while studying History at UC Berkeley. After training at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, Michael landed in New York and quickly fell into the orbit of Labyrinth Theater Company. After performing in a few Off Off Broadway plays he found himself sparring with Philip Seymour Hoffman, Vanessa Redgrave and Brian Dennehy as an understudy in the 2003 Broadway revival of Eugene O'Neill's 'Long Day's Journey into Night'. Since then Michael has performed on stage and screen in many projects, including recurring and guest roles on Turn, Law and Order: SVU, Black Dog, Red Dog, Army Wives, a series regular role on Guiding Light, and on stage in Of Mice and Men, and playing the lead in Mr. Roberts at the Kennedy Center. Michael resides in Brooklyn, with his wife and 2 children.
