Marty DiBergi is the fictional director (played by real-life director Rob Reiner) of the 1984 movie This Is Spın̈al Tap and its 2025 sequel Spın̈al Tap II: The End Continues. A fan of the band, he set out to make a film documenting their 1982 United States concert tour. According to later appearances by the film's characters, his finished documentary was derided as a "hatchet job" by the band members and did not help bolster his film career at all.
