María Barracuda is a Mexican singer and composer who blends rock, pop punk, and electronica in her music. Born Marisela Morales Rodríguez in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico, she's been influenced by both Mexican and North American cultures. Barracuda released her first 10 songs in 2004 and became well-known in Central and South America after her single "Chale" featuring Rubén Albarrán of Café Tacvba. She was nominated for an MTVLA award for best new artist in 2004.
