Mama Odie is a fictional supporting character from Disney's 2009 animated feature film, The Princess and the Frog. She is an ancient, blind, but kindly voodoo priestess of great magical power who lives in an old derelict boat up in a tree deep in the swamps of Louisiana. Mama Odie is an eccentric, sunny, and wise old woman who has great power and does not use it to grant wishes. She challenges anybody, whether people or animals to "dig deeper" in themselves and uses the same advice on all the individuals that seek her out, looking for a "better" life via magic. Mama Odie also has a pet snake named Juju, who also serves as her assistant and presumably familiar who constantly helping her with various tasks throughout their home.
