Lovely Complex is the story of a relationship between two characters who are self-conscious about their height: Risa Koizumi, a young woman who is 5'7“, and Atsushi Ootani, who is 5'1”.
But their height prevents them from fully blossoming: they lack confidence when it comes to relationships with the opposite .
During the summer holidays, Risa and Atsushi fall in love with two other characters and decide to help and encourage each other to overcome their complexes and try to seduce the ones they love... But it's a failure for both of them.
