Leny Eversong (Santos, September 10, 1920 — São Paulo, April 29, 1984), name of Hilda Campos Soares da Silva, was a Brazilian singer, specialized in international music. Leny sang in Portuguese, with a preference for Brazilian sambas, also singing in Spanish, French and Italian. she became known for singing in English in the United States, even without being fluent in the language, where she had a show seen by Frank Sinatra. Leny began recording in 1942, as a crooner in the orchestra of Anthony Sergi, known as Totó. she only recorded international songs, mostly North American. In 1951, she also began recording in Portuguese. worked at Rádio Excelsior (SP) and Nacional de São Paulo. but it was only after the inauguration of Rádio Mundial in Rio de Janeiro, in 1955, that her career took off. soon, she was one of the highest salaries in Brazilian radio.
