Biography

Lauren Gabrielle Rousseau (June 8, 1982 — December 14, 2012) was an assistant teacher at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. She was born in Danbury. She received a degree in English and Psychology from the University of Connecticut in 2004, and a master's degree in elementary Education from the University of Bridgeport. During the shooting that took place at the school, Russou, along with the first grade students, hid them in the toilets. However, gunman Adam Lanza found them and opened fire, killing Rousseau and 15 of the 16 students.
