Meteorologist Kristen Cornett joined the First Alert 4 Weather Team in October 2007, She provides the First Alert Weather Forecast on Saturday and Sunday Evenings as well as during the week as needed, Kristen grew up in Lexington, Kentucky and became fascinated with Severe Weather at an early age, She graduated from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science in GeoScience with an emphasis in Meteorology, She earned her Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society in 1999.
Before joining KMOV, Kristen began her career at CBS affiliate as a Weekend Meteorologist at WCBI in Columbus, Mississippi in 1996, and from there in 1997, She worked as a Weekend Meteorologist at ABC affiliate WAAY-TV in Huntsville, Alabama, and in July 2001, She worked as a Weekend Meteorologist at ABC affiliate, WHAS-TV in Louisville, Kentucky, and in 2004, She worked as a StormTeam 5 Meteorologist at NBC affiliate, WLWT in Cincinnati, Ohio, and also worked as a Staff Meteorologist for NBC Weather Plus in March 2006, Where she appeared on NBC Nightly News, Early Today, CNBC, MSNBC, and The Today Show.
In her free time, Kristen serves on the Members Board at the Missouri Botanical Garden volunteers at the Humane Society of Missouri and runs a personal finance meet-up group, She also a passionate world traveler with recent visits to Italy & Egypt and upcoming plans to visit the Alps, Kristen resides in St. Louis County with her husband Steve and rescue dog Winston.
