Kento Matsunami was born in Tokyo and began acting as a teenager. After high school, he moved to Los Angeles to study at Santa Monica College, graduating with a degree in 2016. His first film role was as the lead character Akira Oniwa in the independent feature film Another Yesterday in 2017.
