Katie Britt (née Boyd, February 2, 1982) is an American attorney, businesswoman, and political candidate who served as president and CEO of the Business Council of Alabama from 2018 to 2021. A member of the Republican Party, she is running in the primary for the 2022 United States Senate election in Alabama. Britt served as U.S. Senator Richard Shelby's chief of staff from 2016 to 2018. If elected, she will become the third overall woman to represent Alabama in the U.S. Senate after Dixie Graves and Martin Allen, the first elected female U.S. Senator from Alabama, the second youngest woman ever elected to the U.S. Senate after Blanche Lincoln, and the first female millennial U.S. Senator (Jon Ossoff from Georgia, who was born in 1987, was the first member of the millennial generation elected to the U.S. Senate).
