Karen Baldwin was the wife of NASA astronaut Edward Baldwin. Although once a traditionalist, believing a woman's job was only to take care of the family, Karen eventually came into her own as an entrepreneur. She purchased The Outpost before selling it to Sam Cleveland, with whom she later got into business by founding Polaris Space Tours. After the Polaris hotel disaster, Karen sold Polaris to Dev Ayesa, and joined him at Helios Aerospace.
