Jesús Barrero Andrade (July 26, 1957 – February 16, 2016) was a renowned Mexican voice actor. He also held a degree in psychology but never practiced it.
He is known for voicing in Latin Spanish dub to Pegasus Seiya in the Saint Seiya franchise, Rick Hunter and Scott Bernard in Robotech, Meisuke Nueno "Nube" in Nube, the Hell Master, the first voice of Yamcha and Puar in Dragon Ball, Galactico in the series of the same name, Impmon and Beelzemon in Digimon Tamers, Koji Minamoto in Digimon Frontier, the third voice of Koji Kabuto in Mazinger Z, among others.
He also excelled in television series, animated series, animated and live-action films, voicing a variety of characters, including Emperor Kuzco in all his appearances, Jason Lee Scott/Red Ranger in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Rex in the Toy Story franchise, the Gingerbread Man in the Shrek franchise, Banzai the Hyena in The Lion King, Flik in A Bug's Life, and Luke Skywalker in the original Star Wars trilogy, among others.
Some of his later roles included Zane Truesdale in Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, Deidara in Naruto, and Yoichi Hiruma in Eyeshield 21. He commonly voiced teenage and young male characters. His most recent notable roles include Malcolm Merlyn in Arrow, Gintoki Sakata in Gintama, and his reprise of Seiya in Saint Seiya Omega.
Brother of actress Banny Barrero, uncle of voice actors José Gilberto Vilchis and Víctor Covarrubias, and father of actress Yectli Barrero Palestino.
He was married to actress Patricia Palestino, founder of the voice-over agency Spot.
