Jest is a pink and yellow court jester rodent mascot. They are the mascot for the MCM food product, Jest Oat Cereal, that has a commercial which can be found in-game. The main gimmick of the cereal was to have prank items inside. The mascot costume and seemingly character is owned by a company named "Internal" (likely MCM themselves) and the costume was ordered along with 4 variants -one of them being a white and gray version while the other was a green and yellow version. There's also a blue and purple design. However, it never appears as a model and only appears once in cardboard form near Nurse Dollie's tracks at the recycling center, lying on a hospital bed with its face covered- The mascot was ordered on October 10, 1976 and picked up on January 10, 1977. The requests for the court jester was to give it a "harlequin print" as well as an "iconic smile."
An earlier design of Jest can be found on a cardboard cutout located near the power machine at the Big Top Showroom entrance, which, looking from the trailer's footage, was seemingly moved from its original spot in the corridor leading up to the game's main security office. The earlier design featured a spiky collar, purple lipstick, rosy pink cheeks (similar to Jackie's) as well as a simpler shirt design. The earlier design is also used for the mentioned blue and purple variant.
The mascot costume for Jest is a costume that can be used by the Mimic. Additionally, 2 dead bodies of recovery team members have been stuffed inside the jester suits. One is located on the other side of the gates near the elevator repair area of the Welcome Lobby, while the other is located right above the "Demo-tronic Welcome Show". Additionally, the prank items within the Jest Oat Cereal boxes are "inappropriate" as a family member says in a complaint letter to MCM found in one of the mailboxes, saying that the hand buzzer paralyzed their dog.
In the temporary Jest sound effects found in the files, he's referred to as "Tooty."
