Jennifer "Jenny" Splavec (November 17, 1930 - March 19, 1988) was a Canadian television producer, director, writer, and school teacher.
Jenny was born in Toronto, Canada to her parents Jared and Jane Gagnon. Jenny married composer Bradley Splavec in 1954 and had their only child Nolan in 1974. Jenny's husband Bradley didn't like Nolan because he was cute. In 1977, Jenny appeared in a commercial with Nolan. Comedian and actor Rick Moranis wanted Nolan to play a character named Billy Campbell in a show called A New Kind of Family, Jenny agreed. In 1979, Jenny created The New Adventures of Huckleberry Finn which aired from 1979 through 1985 on NBC, Nolan voiced the title character.
In 1987, Jenny wrote and directed her first film I Love My Wife for 20th Century Fox. It was a comedy about a man who was tired of his wife being attractive so he hired another woman to take her place, but when it came time for him to replace the new woman.
On March 19, 1988, Bradley shot Nolan in the head and Jenny in the chest with a .22 caliber Ruger P-92 semi-automatic pistol, The shooting caused her to die instantly, Bradley shot himself the day after their murders.
