James Chase is an English actor. He made his TV debut as Tom King in ITV's Emmerdale in March 2023. James was born in Leicester, before moving to London to attend the Acting Foundation course at East15 Acting School. He then went on to Mountview where he completed the BA Acting course. His interest in the screen and stage started at a young age, appearing in multiple productions at the Little Theatre in Leicester; namely playing the lead of Harry Philton in Zigger Zagger, as well as the principal role in Hamlet, directed by Pip Nixon. His performance as the chilling Tom King in Emmerdale has generated significant press and public attention, and garnered a number of Soap Award nominations, (Radio Times, Inside Soap) and winning ITV This Morning's 2024 'Villain of the Year' award. During this time he has worked with multiple Domestic Abuse charities including Refuge and also supported The Mirror's 'Justice For Our Daughters' campaign.
