He played college football for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and Alabama Crimson Tide. Gibbs was selected by the Detroit Lions in the first round of the 2023 NFL draft, where in his first NFL season he was an All-Rookie Team selection and voted to the Pro Bowl.
