Biography

The F-Type R Convertible is a high-performance version of the F-Type Convertible that was introduced at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. It is powered by a 5.0-litre V8 supercharged engine, paired with an 8-speed ZF Quickshift automatic transmission and all-wheel-drive system. The maximum horsepower produced was 550 PS (542 hp; 404 kW) at 6,500 rpm and 680 N·m (502 lb·ft) torque at 3,500-5,000 rpm. The acceleration time from 0-100 km/h was 4.1 seconds (0-60 mph was 3.9 seconds), and the top speed was limited to 300 km/h (186 mph). For the 2018 model year, the R Convertible received a mid cycle refresh with a new front bumper. For the 2020 model year, the R Convertible carries an enhanced chassis source from the SVR model. The F-Type R Convertible was replaced by the F-Type R P575 AWD Convertible in 2020, and the engine horsepower was increased to 575 PS (567 hp; 423 kW).
